Ho Ho Ho....

.. and Merrryyyyy Christmas!!

Here is a cute card (cased but sorry, cannot remember where I have seen it before, so if it was your idea, please let me know so I can give credit where due. :-) ) but probably not a good one to send to relatives in Australia at the moment! They might just wonder what it was that I had put in the envelope! ;-)

For my Brother..

(Non-Stampin' Up! stamp used)
I made this card for one of my Brother's birthdays. He is a mad keen fisherman, and I just know he will appreciate this card. We don't keep in touch nowhere near as often as I would like, so I do like to send them a card at least on their Birthdays to show them I miss them and am thinking of them. I say them, as I have 4 brothers. :-)

A Workshop at my home..

Cavina and Ron busy working away!!

Isn't it lovely to see people enjoying crafting! Even my Son Ron got stuck into it. He likes all the "toys" Stampin' Up! have, and today really enjoyed playing with the punches!

Cavina created this gorgeous gift card wallet. She used Washington Post DSP and Mellow Moss card stock. The ribbon was Chocolate Chip and So Saffron. Perfect gift for a bloke don't you think!!

I really like Cavina's take on the Pop-Up card too.. Ski Slopes DSP works great in this project.

Next Friday we will be making a Tri-Fold card and an Easel Card.

Anyone who would like to attend, please contact me on:
or phone: 03 3295440

There will be room for 3 more guests.

Thank you Colleen!!

My wonderful co-demo Colleen White created this stunning fold card! Sorry I cannot tell you what it's called, as I don't know, but isn't it amazing! I can't wait to have a go at doing one of these! The stamp set used is "Tree Trimmings", available only for a couple more days, in the Spring Mini Catalogue (so please, if you want to order it, do so now!). Colleen has embossed the tree decoration in Silver embossing powder, then attached it with some real red ribbon. It gets a huge thumbs up from me! :-)

CASED from another card I have seen...

I cased this card from Paula Dobson's website. It's nowhere near as beautiful as Paula's cards, but I just wanted to have a go. I can see me creating more like this card.. I love the style! Thank you so much Paula for sharing it with us and hopefully one day, I may do your cards justice. :-)
The stamp sets used were Lovely as A Tree (116388 $57.95NZD) and Winter Post (115902 $56.95NZD) Both sets are amongst my favourite Stampin' Up! stamp sets. The background papers are the Silver Metallic card stock, and Baja Breeze card stock. Although it doesn't show up very clearly in this photo, there is also some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the card. (102023 $10.25NZD)

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!!!

I always get so excited as Christmas approaches! I just LOVE this time of year. I am very happy that this year, I have been able to create so many of my own Christmas gifts and all my own Christmas cards! AND, it doesn't end there! I have also created some amazing decorations and ornaments! Today, I made this fantastic Christmas Cracker! Won't these look adorable on the Christmas table!!!

I have to thank Michelle Cave for the instructions and tutorial for making this Christmas Cracker. I LOVE it!!

I have to say, I am very tempted to break out the Christmas carols and have them playing in the background while I am working on these projects. Oh, and maybe put up a wee Christmas Tree? Well, it would help set the mood. ;-)

Please keep your eye on my blog over the next few days for some special announcements! There is so much happening over the next few weeks, you just won't believe it.

Cracked Glass technique

Each week, I try to learn at least one new technique. For me, this week it was the Cracked Glass technique. I have to say I really love the effect! I can now see many uses for this particular technique, and am looking forward to trying it again. If you would like to know more about this, or any other technique, please contact me for further details.

For a wedding..

This was my first attempt at creating a card for a wedding. Stampin' Up! have the most amazing kit, called the "pretties kit" which has beads, flowers and hat pins, so it's just a matter of putting together what you feel the card needs on it. I also used Stampin' Up!'s metallic cardstock, the silver, on this card.
All these products (except the ribbon used here, which is non-SU) can be ordered through your Stampin' Up! demonstrator.
For more information, call me on: brigsyanne@gmail.com or phone: 03 3295440

A small challenge between two friends...

Yesterday, my friend and fellow SU demonstrator,  Lisa Bullock came over for a crafting morning. We had fun with all the different punches that SU have, and came up with this very cute Owl. Our challenge to each other was to see how we would each attach him to a card.

Well here is my version of Mr Christmas Owl. Isn't he just the cutest!!!

All papers used are Stampin' Up!.

Today's Play!

My Wonderful Upline, Michelle Cave, sent me a beautiful Christmas card, very much like this one, and I couldn't wait to re-create it. So, here is my Version. It is a pop-up card done in blues, silver and whisper white. Not your usual Christmassy colours, but gee doesn't it work well!!
I'm really enjoying creating unusual shaped cards and other 3-D items at the moment. Isn't it amazing just what can be created with paper!

Have you got your Christmas cards finished yet?

For the first time in many years, I am almost finished not only making my Christmas cards, but writing them all out ready to send! Having the most amazing stamp sets to work with, and papers, really does help!
Here are a few cards I am going to be sending out this year....

These two cards are both made using "punch" art. Stampin' Up! sell a huge range of punches that are perfect for creating some awesome punched characters. Keep watching my blog for more!!

Split Negative Technique..

Every month, I try to do at least one new technique. This month, it was to create a card using the split negative technique. Mostly, this is done using black and white images, but I wanted to try with something a little different. Here is what I came up with.
The stamp is called "Stipple Rose" and it is a retired Stampin' Up! stamp. It's such a gorgeous stamp though, I absolutely love it!
If you would like to know how to do this, or any other technique, please do contact me.

Mini Boxes

Before I joined Stampin' Up! I had barely made any cards, let alone anything 3-D, but I have to tell you, I absolutely LOVE doing things other than cards these days!

I always struggle with ideas for neighbours and friends for small gifts at Christmas, on Birthday etc. so when I discovered these gorgeous wee boxes, I was thrilled! You can fill them with almost anything, and they look fantastic!

If you would like more information, or would like to learn how to make these and similar boxes, please contact me on: brigsyanne@gmail.com

Baja Breeze works wonderful on those Christmas projects too!
It doesn't have to be the traditional reds and greens.

Written by my Son for our Daughter.....

For Vicky

From the second I awoke this morning,

With the sun still yet to rise,

My nerves already on edge,

My stomach full of butterflies.

For today would be the day,

The day I saw you again,

The last five years would be as nothing,

And together we could pretend.

Pretend that things were different,

Pretend that things were good,

Pretend that our last goodbye,

Had gone the way it should.

I clean and dress with care,

I wish too look my best,

Even though you wouldn’t mind,

I know you deserve no less.

As im walking off to meet you,

I pass a shop and see,

A beautiful bunch of roses,

I buy just one to take with me.

When finally I arrive,

At the place we are to meet,

I softly whisper ‘I love you’

And place the rose at my feet.

For I stand before your grave stone,

And I shed a single tear,

It has been far, far too long,

Since the last time I was here.

I know you would forgive me,

But in my heart I still feel bad,

You were my one and only sister,

The closest friend I had.

So I make this vow today,

That five years shall not go by,

Before the next time I visit you,

And wipe that single tear from my eye.

Robert

Brignall

(I just wanted to post this here today, as tomorrow is the anniversary of losing our daughter Victoria.. it will be 16 years. Our Son Robert wrote this Poem for his Sister a few weeks ago!)
