Just a little something...

How cute is this wee card! Just a little something to hang on the Christmas tree.
I thought these might be nice to send overseas, as they are so tiny!
Made with the Christmas DSP's from Stampin' Up! they make a nice, unique little "extra".

Spring theme Cyber entry...

Our next challenge was to come up with a card that had a spring feel to it.

This was my entry.
Here in New Zealand, Spring is just around the corner. The days are getting longer, the nights aren't so cold, and the daffodils and Jonquils are showing their beautiful yellow heads. Soon all the blossom will be out on the trees, and all the new leaves. I love this Season!!
Spring for me is also Kitten Season! Yay, I am looking forward to having some furry kids under foot once again.

Challenges Galore!!

What a lovely week for challenges this has been! I've had a great time joining in some Challenges set by our Stampin' Up! team, while our leaders have been away on their fantastic Incentive Trip to Noosa in Qld, which they worked hard to achieve. So, while the "Cat's" were away, us Mice had a play!!

A scrapbook page..

This is one of my favourite photographs of my Great-Niece Amalie Rose. The background paper is not from Stampin' Up!. Sorry I don't remember what it is called, but a friend got it for me from Spotlight. The double mounting is using SU card stock, and I used the Bronc Buster stamp set for the image, coloured using the Stampin' Write! markers.

The ribbon is Chocolate chip, with some rub-on's added from the Laughter & Love rub on's from Stampin' Up!

Cards ... and cats!

I like to try take a photo of my cards on a small table in my craft room.. my lovely cat Athena has taken to lying down behind any cards I set up, watching to see what I am doing.. either that, or she just wants to be in the photos.
This is today's effort. It was my attempt at a Faux Silk card (really for a challenge set for next week, I'm getting in early! lol) a technique I have never tried before.

I used the Bella's bloom stamp set with Real Red and Always Artichoke inks. DSP was a piece of paper from the Bella Rose set, real red and Always Artichoke c/s as well as whisper white c/s.

The brad is made with the build-a-brad set.

Just because...

Usually when I make cards, I have a specific person, or occasion in mind. This time, I just did these cards because I could.

I love "Pocket Silhouettes" stamp set from Stampin' Up! and wanted to play with it, so that was where the inspiration came from for those two cards. The rose was using "Fifth Avenue" a stamp set I seem to use rather a lot! I find I keep thinking of different techniques for this particular stamp sets, then just have to try them out. lol. I stamped the rose onto vellum paper, and watercoloured it from the back, using reinkers mixed with water. This technique has a lot of potential, and I am very keen to have another play at this.

The fourth card is using "Cheers to You" stamp set. One I have had for a wee while, but never really put it to use. So, I came up with this card. Now I have actually had it out and used it, I can think of a few ideas for it, so don't be surprised to see more of this set being used.

I thought this little Birdie was rather cute! He comes from the "On Board So Tweet" acid free chipboard set. The background paper is from the "Good Morning Sunshine" designer series papers. Also I have used Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point cardstock. The bird and branch are coloured using the Stampin' Up! markers, and then had some "Flower Soft" (non-SU) added to them for added texture and dimension.
